The Admissions team hosts a number of online and in-person events designed to help you prepare for your future at RISD. In addition to Admitted Students Day in April for first-year students, online events for both first-year and transfer students provide an overview of our campus community and a forum any questions you may have.

Admitted Students Day 1 arrow clothed

We look forward to your visit!

Learn more about our community, academic programs and life outside the classroom and studios—both on campus and in Providence. Ask questions, take a campus tour, take a look at the residence hall room that might be yours and begin to picture yourself at RISD.

10 am–12 pm | 20 Washington Place
If you’re arriving in the morning, stop by the Student Success Center for a casual chat with staff and students, learn about support services and activities from our colleagues in Student Affairs and enjoy a continental breakfast in this new space.

And if you’re up for walking, choose from three tour options: one that visits a residence hall (also part of the afternoon tour), another the RISD Museum (not part of any afternoon tours) or a third that takes you to our amazing library (for a more in-depth look than the quick visit in the afternoon)

1–3 pm | RISD Auditorium at 17 Canal Walk
Prior to this session, a light lunch will be available here beginning at noon. During the presentation, the deans of Experimental & Foundations Studies and Liberal Arts will introduce you to the first-year learning experience, while the dean of students will highlight cocurricular opportunities and support services. The director of RISD Careers will talk about the many career prep programs available and the diverse pathways alumni follow after graduation. Finally, students will share their insights and tell you about RISD from their perspectives.

3– 5 pm | Campus tour

Get a better feel for RISD and our community through an intro to key spaces on campus (including our first-year residence hall complex) during a typical day for current students. Top off all the walking with a meal at The Met, our main student dining hall.
