RISD Health Services requires all new students to submit health forms. BRDD students are also required to fill out and submit Brown's health forms to their Health Services office.

Brown|RISD Dual Degree students may use the health and counseling services of either institution, regardless of where the student resides. Students will pay Brown’s health services and health insurance fees.

BRDD Pre-Orientation arrow clothed

Prior to the beginning of the fall semester, new BRDD students will move into their first-year residence hall at RISD. They will attend a Dual Degree Pre-Orientation organized jointly by RISD and Brown and will then choose a specialized program to attend before the start of the general RISD and Brown orientations for all first-year students (programs listed below).

First-year BRDD students largely prioritize RISD Orientation as they will be residents at RISD. They are invited to participate in first-year group activities at Brown's general orientation and throughout the year. Additionally, students will participate in Brown’s First Reading Seminar Program and in Brown's first-year advising meeting.

Pre-Orientation program options
All first-year BRDD students must attend the Brown|RISD Dual Degree Pre-Orientation from Sunday, August 25, 2019 through Tuesday, August 27, 2019.

Then BRDD students must also enroll in one of the following programs as part of their Pre-Orientation experience:

Project Thrive is a program designed specifically for students who are the first in their families to attend college. The program provides students with weekly community gatherings, a strong connection to the Office of Intercultural Student Engagement, mentorship and off-campus excursions.
