Health forms deadline arrow clothed

RISD Health Services requires all new students to submit health forms. BRDD students are also required to fill out and submit Brown's health forms to their Health Services office.

Brown|RISD Dual Degree students may use the health and counseling services of either institution, regardless of where the student resides. Students will pay Brown’s health services and health insurance fees.

RISD Health Services requires all new students to submit health forms. Please be aware that your registration is not considered complete until your completed and signed forms have been received by Health Services. Students who have not submitted completed health forms will not be able to receive their course schedule and begin attending classes.

Begin to ship your belongings for fall semester arrow clothed

RISD has partnered with Jones Storage to meet the shipping needs of incoming students. If you'd like to ship belongings to campus prior to the start of the fall semester, please check out the detailed instructions for new students provided by Mail Services.

Pre-Orientation Service Experience application deadline arrow clothed

First-year and transfer students may apply for the Pre-Orientation Service Experience (POSE), an intensive five-day program prior to New Student Orientation that fosters incoming student engagement with the community around campus. This program empowers you to use art and design to make a difference in the world and creates a foundation for your continued involvement in community service during your time at RISD.

Applications are reviewed during a 1-2 week period after the deadline and students will be notified of acceptance shortly thereafter. On average, 65-70% of applicants are accepted to the POSE program.

Offered by the Office of Intercultural Student Engagement (ISE), this survey is an opportunity to share your background so ISE can best tailor programs and services to your needs.

ID card photo deadline arrow clothed

In order to obtain your RISD ID card, submit a photo that meets the following requirements to cardservices@risd.edu:

  • A clear, high-quality photo with a plain light-colored background
  • A front view of your whole face alone
  • Taken within the last three months
  • No hat or dark glasses
  • JPEG format

Students in the Brown|RISD Dual Degree program have access to the buildings, facilities and grounds at both schools, which is true for all undergraduate students at both institutions. Students will be issued ID cards from both schools that will reflect their status as Dual Degree Program students. Brown ID cards are to be obtained through Brown's Card Office.

Fall health insurance waiver deadline arrow clothed

The waiver is optional and is only for students who do not want to participate in RISD's health insurance plan for the 2017/18 academic year.

Students should contact Disability Support Services (DSS) in order to request accommodations based on a disability. Please consult the Accommodation Request Timeline to plan the timing of your request accordingly.

If you are an incoming international student, RISD’s Office of International Student Services (OISS) offers support and services with immigration compliance, cultural and language adjustment and navigating United States systems.
